JR Technologies Achieves Highest IATA ONE Order Certification
DUBLIN, Ireland, February 27, 2019 – Dublin-based JR Technologies has been recognized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for its work and development toward the evolution of airline sales and passenger management systems by achieving certification in the newly announced ONE Order Certification Program. JR Technologies is one of only five companies certified by IATA at the program’s launch and one of only two companies to achieve the highest certification level encompassing the entire ONE Order process. Achieving the highest level requires that the company be able to handle the entire passenger experience from sale, through to flight, and finally into the airline accounting systems, including any additional products or services that the passenger may purchase.
The certification comes after JR Technologies announced its successful real-world tests of its ONE Order systems at the annual IATA Global Airport & Passenger Symposium held in Athens, Greece in October 2018. The JR Technologies’ ONE Order solution is a collaboration if its New Distribution Capabilities (NDC) Retailing Platform utilizing Chicago, USA-based MIS Choice’s Airline Choice Departure Control System and Frankfurt, Germany-based Lufthansa Systems’ Sirax Revenue Accounting system to complete the passenger handling business cycle. The tests were the first production implementation of the IATA ONE Order program and proved that the concept, which has been under development by IATA since 2014, works in the operating airline and airport environment.
JR Technologies has been active in developing next-generation airline systems since the IATA New Distribution Capabilities (NDC) initiative was launched in 2012. The company leadership has taken an active role in the IATA community to help develop the operational and technical standards for the entire airline industry to achieve these long-standing goals. The ONE Order initiatives are an extension of the NDC programs that simplifies the way that airlines operate and interact individually with their passengers before, during and after the trip, which is just not possible using the 60-year-old technology used by most airlines today.
The ONE Order capabilities are at the core of the JR Technologies NDC-based systems and the entire technology driving all JR Technologies products. Ryan Harris, Director at JR Technologies, explains, “Our airline systems and solutions are unique in the industry in that they were not modified to NDC and ONE Order capabilities, they were designed that way from the start. Because of that origin in the technology of tomorrow, we can greatly simplify our client’s operation, lowering their overall costs, while at the same time allowing them to provide a better product to all of their customers at any point of their journey.”
“Our industry partnerships have been a major asset to our clients,” continued Harris. “Being able to partner with recognized industry leaders in very specialized areas, such as using the Airline Choice DCS and Sirax Revenue Accounting, has enabled JR Technologies to build an entire industry-leading airline sales and delivery infrastructure of tomorrow.”
